Welcome at Taipei!! The signboard at Taipei-Taoyuan International Airport greets us, dentists from Indonesia, as we landed in Taiwan. It is time for implant course and a little bit travelling in Taiwan. This time the course is all about one piece implant.
The main lecturer, Dr. Jack Lin, is a well-known implantologist as well as the founder of ComMed implant. The other lecturer was Dr. Wang Chau Hsiang, Professor in school of dentistry, Kaohsiung Medical University. He explains all things about viscoelastic properties of oral mucosa and periodontal ligament. His experiences in Japan and Germany (with Prof. Dr. Körber, Universität zu Kiel) gave us insight about conus crown (Konuskronen) and telescope dentures.

Prof. Sheng Yang Lee from School of Dentistry, Taipei Medical University was also giving lectures about bone grafts. He invented synthetic bone material which named ´Bonagraft´and had been used many times for simple bone augmentation and sinus lifting.
After thorough explaination about one piece implant, sinus lifting, bone substitute materials, and telescopic dentures, the course was closed with hands-on in implant insertion, sinus lift and suturing which was guided by Dr. Randy Huang, one of the senior dentists in Yess Dental Clinic owned by Dr. Lin.

In the last day of the course, Dr. Lin did some implant and sinus lift surgery. The surgery was conducted in his clinic, Yess Dental Clinic. He did some extra-ordinary surgery, ie. 12 implants were inserted within one hour!

In between the courses, culinary and tourism objects around Taipei were also visited. Some of them were accompanied also by Dr. Lin himself. Shilin night markets, Jiufen old street, Tamsui village, and Taipei 101 were some of them.
